AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated gstreamer1-plugins-base packages that fix this NULL pointer dereference vulnerability. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and its Extended Update Support and Extended Life Cycle variants should apply the security update as detailed in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:66460. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A moderate severity vulnerability (CVE-2026-85150) exists in the gstreamer1-plugins-base package used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. The flaw is a NULL or invalid pointer dereference in the gst_rtsp_message_parse_auth_credentials() function when parsing a crafted Digest Authorization or WWW-Authenticate header. This can cause a denial of service or application crash when processing specially crafted RTSP messages.
