AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated Ignition packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigations are indicated beyond applying the provided patches.
Description
Red Hat issued a security advisory for the Ignition utility used during system initramfs to apply configurations on first boot. Multiple vulnerabilities in underlying Golang libraries used by Ignition have been addressed, including denial of service via pathological email parsing, excessive recursion in ASN.1 unmarshalling, quadratic complexity in URL path resolution, unencrypted HTTP/2 denial of service, cross-site scripting via HTML template inputs, and denial of service via indefinite TLS KeyUpdate messages and XML decoding recursion. The update is rated as Important by Red Hat Product Security and affects Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support versions.
