What to do
AI-suggested
Apply the Red Hat java-11-openjdk update as provided in RHSA-2024:0237 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 Extended Update Support and related products. After applying the update, restart all running OpenJDK Java instances to ensure the security fixes take effect. Refer to https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 for detailed update instructions. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the java-11-openjdk packages provided by Red Hat for OpenJDK 11. These include an array out-of-bounds access in the C1 compiler, RSA padding and timing side-channel issues affecting TLS, JVM class file verifier flaws allowing unverified bytecode execution, range check loop optimization problems, arbitrary Java code execution in Nashorn, and logging of digital signature private keys. The update addresses these issues in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 Extended Update Support and related products. Users must apply the update and restart all running OpenJDK Java instances for the fixes to take effect.
