What to do
AI-suggested
Red Hat has released an official security update for the java-11-openjdk packages that addresses all listed vulnerabilities. Users should apply the update as provided in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 Advanced Update Support, Telecommunications Update Service, and Update Services for SAP Solutions. After applying the update, all running OpenJDK Java instances must be restarted to ensure the fixes take effect. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the java-11-openjdk packages provided by Red Hat. These include issues such as array out-of-bounds access in the C1 compiler, RSA padding and timing side-channel attacks against TLS, JVM class file verifier flaws allowing unverified bytecode execution, range check loop optimization problems, arbitrary Java code execution in Nashorn, and logging of digital signature private keys. The update addresses these vulnerabilities to improve the security of the OpenJDK 11 Java Runtime Environment and Software Development Kit.
