Description

Red Hat has issued a security advisory for the kernel-rt packages, which provide the Real Time Linux Kernel for systems requiring high determinism. The update addresses two vulnerabilities: CVE-2024-53241, a speculative attack risk in the Xen hypercall page, and CVE-2024-53150, an out-of-bounds read in the ALSA usb-audio component when finding clock sources. The advisory rates the security impact as moderate. Systems must be rebooted after applying the update for the fixes to take effect.
