AI-suggested

Red Hat has released official live patch modules (kpatch-patch-5_14_0-687_10_1 and kpatch-patch-5_14_0-687_42_1) that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply these kernel live patches as per Red Hat's update instructions to remediate the issues. Detailed guidance is available at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the provided patches.

Description

Red Hat issued a security advisory for kernel live patch modules targeting kernel-5.14.0-687.10.1.el9_8 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. The update addresses four security vulnerabilities involving RDMA mlx4 and mlx5 subsystems, io_uring polling, and IPv4 sysctl local reserved ports handling. These fixes correct issues such as misuse of RCU, error path fall-through, signed comparison errors, and resource freeing after unregistering sysctl tables.
