AI-suggested

Red Hat has issued security updates for libreswan in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Extended Life Cycle Long Life and AUS variants that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in libreswan, an implementation of IPsec and IKE for Linux, which is used to build secure VPN tunnels. These include denial of service issues via RSA-SHA1 authentication payloads in both IKEv1 and IKEv2, as well as an assertion failure caused by a badly formatted X.509 certificate that crashes the daemon process. These issues have been addressed in a security update provided by Red Hat for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 variants.
