AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated libsolv packages that address these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related products should apply the provided security updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258). No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the libsolv library used for resolving package dependencies. These include a stack-based buffer overflow in the Debian metadata parser when handling SHA384/SHA512 checksums, and two heap buffer overflows related to processing crafted .solv files and malicious .solv page data decompression. These flaws could lead to memory corruption. Red Hat has issued a security update addressing these issues for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related products.
