AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated libsoup packages that address these vulnerabilities. Users of affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support and related variants should apply the security updates as described in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:93446. Detailed update instructions are available at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. Applying these updates is the primary mitigation; no additional vendor-recommended mitigations are specified.

Description

Multiple heap buffer overflow vulnerabilities have been identified in the libsoup HTTP client and server library for GNOME. These vulnerabilities affect WebSocket handling, including Pong signal type confusion, message reassembly, receive-buffer growth, client-frame masking, and outgoing permessage-deflate buffer growth. Red Hat has issued security updates addressing these issues in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support and related variants.
