AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated libvirt packages that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official Red Hat update for libvirt on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and related products as detailed in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:75583. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the vendor-provided patches.
Description
Red Hat has issued an important security advisory for libvirt, a C API and toolset for managing virtualization on Linux and other OSes. The update addresses two security vulnerabilities: a privilege escalation via symlink following in swtpm (CVE-2026-63622) and an integer overflow in the NodeGetFreePages RPC handler that leads to a heap buffer overflow (CVE-2026-18917). These vulnerabilities could allow attackers to escalate privileges or cause memory corruption. The advisory also includes various bug fixes and enhancements for libvirt. The update is available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and related products.
