What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated libXfont2 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:61756) and the referenced article (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official update.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the X.Org X11 libXfont2 runtime library affecting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8. These include an out-of-bounds read/write and a privilege escalation via a heap buffer overflow in the Font Server Client component. Red Hat has issued an important security update addressing these issues.
