What to do
AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated libXfont2 packages that fix these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related CodeReady Linux Builder products should apply the provided updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258). No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Red Hat has issued an important security update for the libXfont2 runtime library used in X.Org X11. The update addresses two vulnerabilities: an out-of-bounds read/write in the Font Server Client encoding (CVE-2026-59679) and a privilege escalation via a heap buffer overflow in the Font Server Client (CVE-2026-44950). These vulnerabilities affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related CodeReady Linux Builder products across multiple architectures. The update is available and should be applied to remediate these issues.
