AI-suggested

Red Hat has released security updates for libxml2 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the updates as described in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2025:10698 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the libxml2 library used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. These include a heap use-after-free and type confusion, both leading to denial of service (DoS), and an integer overflow in the xmlBuildQName() function that results in a stack buffer overflow. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates to address these issues.
