Red Hat has released updated .NET 8.0 packages for RHEL 9.6 Extended Update Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply these official updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258). No additional mitigation steps are specified or required beyond applying the provided patches.
Description
.NET 8.0 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 has received an important security update addressing two vulnerabilities: an out-of-bounds write in the Google Brotli decoder (CVE-2026-111497) and an elevation of privilege vulnerability in ASP.NET Core affecting multiple .NET versions (CVE-2026-114148). These issues could allow attackers to cause memory corruption or escalate privileges. Red Hat has released updated packages for these components as part of the 9.6 Extended Update Support. Users should apply the provided updates to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
