AI-suggested

Red Hat advises upgrading to the updated topology aware lifecycle manager packages and images for OpenShift Container Platform 4.12 as detailed in their advisory. Currently, no other mitigation is available or meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, deployment, and stability. Users should follow Red Hat's official upgrade instructions linked in the advisory to apply the asynchronous errata update.

Description

A denial of service vulnerability exists in the Go standard library's HTTP/2 protocol implementation used by Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.12 CNF vRAN extras topology aware lifecycle manager. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP/2 SETTINGS frame with SETTINGS_MAX_FRAME_SIZE set to zero, causing an infinite loop of CONTINUATION frames that exhaust system resources and disrupt service availability. Red Hat advises users to upgrade to updated packages and images for OpenShift Container Platform 4.12. No direct fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of deployment and stability.
