Description

A vulnerability (CVE-2024-45339) was found in the golang/glog logging library used by Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. It allows an unprivileged attacker to overwrite sensitive files by exploiting predictable log file paths and planting symbolic links in writable directories. This can lead to high confidentiality and integrity impacts. Red Hat has issued an advisory recommending users of OpenShift Container Platform 4.15 to upgrade to version 4.15.58, which includes fixes for this and other vulnerabilities. No mitigation other than upgrading is currently recommended by Red Hat.
