AI-suggested

Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.18 users should upgrade to the 4.18.38 release containing the fixed container images and updated packages as soon as they are available in the appropriate release channels. Upgrades can be performed using the OpenShift CLI (oc) or the web console. Detailed upgrade instructions are available in the official Red Hat documentation. No alternative mitigations or workarounds are specified; applying the official update is the recommended remediation.

Description

Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.18.38 includes important security fixes addressing multiple vulnerabilities in libarchive and Vim components. These include an infinite loop denial of service in libarchive's RAR5 decompression and several arbitrary code execution and denial of service issues in Vim related to command injection, helpfile processing, the netrw plugin, and crafted swap files. Users of OpenShift Container Platform 4.18 are advised to upgrade to the updated packages and container images to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
