What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated RPM packages and container images in OpenShift Container Platform 4.20.39 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should upgrade to these updated packages and images as soon as they are available in their release channels. Upgrades can be performed using the OpenShift CLI (oc) or web console following Red Hat's documented cluster update procedures. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying these updates.

Description

Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.20.39 includes security updates addressing two vulnerabilities in the fast-uri component: an authority injection via unvalidated port serialization (CVE-2026-84292) and host confusion via unbalanced URI brackets that can bypass security policies (CVE-2026-84394). These issues could impact security policy enforcement in OpenShift deployments. Users of OpenShift Container Platform 4.20 are advised to upgrade to the updated packages and container images provided in this release.
