Red Hat has released updated packages for the OpenTelemetry Collector as part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.2 Extended Update Support. Users should apply these official security updates promptly to remediate the identified vulnerabilities. Detailed update instructions are available in the Red Hat advisory at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the provided patches.
Description
Multiple denial of service vulnerabilities and a man-in-the-middle vulnerability have been identified in the Red Hat build of OpenTelemetry Collector. These issues stem from flaws in Go language components such as net/http, crypto/tls, net/textproto, and crypto/x509. The vulnerabilities allow denial of service via crafted HTTP Range headers, excessive HTTP/2 SETTINGS frames, memory limit bypass in multipart form parsing, and multiple ECH outer extension references. Additionally, a man-in-the-middle attack is possible due to untrusted intermediate certificates in crypto/x509. Red Hat has released security updates addressing these issues for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.2 Extended Update Support and related variants.
