Red Hat has released updated packages for the OpenTelemetry Collector as part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and its variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update RHSA-2026:65116 promptly to remediate these issues. For detailed update instructions, refer to the Red Hat advisory at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Multiple denial of service (DoS) vulnerabilities and one cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability have been identified in the Red Hat build of the OpenTelemetry Collector and its Golang dependencies. These issues involve pathological inputs causing DoS in email parsing, MIME header processing, ASN.1 unmarshalling, URL path resolution, HTTP/2 handling, TLS key updates, and XML decoding, as well as an XSS vulnerability in HTML template processing. Red Hat has released an important security update addressing these vulnerabilities for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and its variants.
