AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Extended Life Cycle and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in Performance Co-Pilot (PCP), a suite for system performance measurement and analysis. These include arbitrary command execution via command injection, privilege escalation to root, unauthenticated access bypassing access controls, and denial of service caused by a signed integer overflow. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates addressing these issues for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 variants. The vulnerabilities affect the linux_sockets PMDA component, pmproxy service, and overall PCP functionality.
