AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated python-tornado packages (version 6.5.8-0.el9_8.1) that fix these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigations or workarounds are specified in the advisory.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the python-tornado package used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. The first vulnerability (CVE-2026-49853) involves information disclosure due to improper handling of credentials during HTTP redirects. The second vulnerability (CVE-2026-49855) allows denial of service via uncontrolled gzip decompression memory consumption. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory and released updated python-tornado packages to address these issues.
