AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated python3 packages (version 3.6.8-47.el8_6.16) that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official Red Hat update as described in the advisory at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the python3 package for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6. The first is a certificate verification bypass due to missing server_hostname validation in SSLContext.wrap_bio() (CVE-2026-19553). The second is a use-after-free vulnerability in a server-side SSLContext when sni_callback switches contexts (CVE-2026-19445). These issues could impact the security of SSL/TLS connections in Python applications. Red Hat has released an update to address these vulnerabilities.
