AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated python3.12 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official update.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities affecting the Python 3.12 implementation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 have been addressed. These issues involve bypasses of extraction filters in the tarfile module, allowing modification of file metadata, creation of symbolic links, and arbitrary writes outside the intended extraction directory. The update fixes five CVEs related to these extraction filter bypasses and realpath overflow issues. Red Hat has released a security update rated as Important to remediate these vulnerabilities.
