AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated python3.12 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official update.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Python 3.12 tarfile module used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. These include bypasses of extraction filters allowing modification of file metadata and creation of symlinks outside the intended extraction directory, as well as arbitrary writes via a realpath overflow. Red Hat has issued an important security update addressing these issues.
