AI-suggested

Red Hat platform hardenings (ASLR, NX, FORTIFY_SOURCE, SELinux) increase the difficulty of exploitation. For other affected Red Hat products using Brotli, customers should apply available updates to Brotli or dependent packages as per Red Hat advisories.

Description

A security vulnerability exists in the Google Brotli decoder used in Red Hat AI Base Images 3.0.8 (TPU) and related Red Hat products. The flaw is an out-of-bounds write triggered by a crafted Brotli-compressed stream during decompression. This can lead to memory disclosure, denial of service, or potentially arbitrary code execution. Exploitation requires decompressing attacker-controlled Brotli data, such as HTTP content with Content-Encoding: br. Red Hat platform hardenings increase difficulty of exploitation but do not eliminate all impact. No fixes are currently available for Red Hat AI Base Images 3.0.8 (TPU).
