Description

Red Hat AI Base Images 3.2.4 (ROCm 7.0) include multiple security vulnerabilities, notably CVE-2026-11940, which affects the Python tarfile.extractall() function. This flaw allows a specially crafted archive to bypass security filters via hardlink and symlink manipulation, potentially leading to unauthorized file reads or writes outside the intended directory. Red Hat has not yet released fixes for these vulnerabilities. Mitigation options are currently unavailable or do not meet Red Hat's criteria for deployment.
