Description

Red Hat AI Base Images 3.2.4 (Spyre) include multiple security vulnerabilities, notably CVE-2026-11940, which affects the Python tarfile.extractall() function. This flaw allows a remote attacker to craft a malicious archive that can bypass security filters by exploiting hardlinks referencing symlinks, potentially leading to file reads or writes outside the intended directory. Red Hat has not yet provided fixes for these vulnerabilities in the AI Base Images. The advisory covers several CVEs but detailed patch information is not available.
