What to do

AI-suggested

No mitigation or fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment and stability. Since typical OpenSSL consumers using higher-level EVP APIs are not affected, no immediate action is required for most users. Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for any future updates or fixes.

Description

A vulnerability exists in OpenSSL's low-level OCB encryption/decryption functions when called with non-block-aligned lengths on hardware-accelerated builds, potentially exposing 1-15 trailing bytes of a message in cleartext. This flaw is rated low impact for Red Hat products because typical applications use higher-level APIs not affected by this issue. The vulnerability does not affect TLS or FIPS modules. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment and stability.
