AI-suggested
No fixes are currently available for Red Hat AI Base Images 3.4.7 (Neuron). Red Hat platform hardenings such as ASLR, NX, FORTIFY_SOURCE, and SELinux provide some mitigation by increasing exploitation difficulty. Customers should monitor Red Hat security advisories for forthcoming patches or updates. For affected Node.js and .NET packages using Brotli, updating the system brotli/libbrotli package is recommended when applicable. No immediate action is specified for the AI Base Images themselves.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-96889 and CVE-2026-111497, affect Red Hat AI Base Images 3.4.7 (Neuron) and related components. CVE-2026-111497 is a high-severity flaw in the Google Brotli decoder that can lead to out-of-bounds writes when decompressing crafted Brotli-compressed streams, potentially causing memory disclosure, denial of service, or arbitrary code execution. Exploitation requires processing attacker-controlled Brotli data, and Red Hat platform hardenings increase exploitation difficulty. No fixes are currently available for Red Hat AI Base Images 3.4.7. The advisory rates the issue as Important rather than Critical due to attack complexity and mitigations.
