What to do

AI-suggested

Users should note that typical OpenSSL usage via higher-level EVP APIs and TLS are not affected. Monitoring Red Hat advisories for future updates is recommended. No urgent action is required based on current Red Hat guidance.

Description

A vulnerability exists in OpenSSL's low-level OCB encryption/decryption functions when called with non-block-aligned lengths on hardware-accelerated builds. This flaw may expose the trailing 1-15 bytes of a message in cleartext, bypassing authentication protection. The issue affects Red Hat AI Base Images 3.5.5 (Rubin) but is rated low impact for Red Hat products because typical OpenSSL usage via higher-level APIs and TLS are not affected. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment and stability.
