AI-suggested
Currently, no mitigation or patch meeting Red Hat's standards for ease of use, deployment, applicability, or stability is available. Users should be aware that headless-only environments excluding java.desktop are not affected. Monitor Red Hat advisories for future updates or fixes. Customers with Technical Account Managers can consult them for tailored guidance.
Description
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the giflib component used by Red Hat AI Inference Server 3.2.2 (ROCm). This flaw occurs in the EGifGCBToExtension function when processing a specially crafted Graphics Control Extension block, allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) by overwriting memory without proper size validation. The vulnerability does not affect headless-only environments that exclude the java.desktop component, which is the only code using giflib. No fix or mitigation meeting Red Hat's criteria is currently available.
