Description
CVE-2025-66418 is a denial of service vulnerability in the urllib3 Python library used by Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. A malicious server can exploit this by sending an HTTP response with an excessive number of chained compression algorithms, causing unbounded decompression and resource exhaustion. This leads to high CPU and memory usage, making the application unresponsive. Red Hat has released an update to ansible-core version 2.16.19 which includes fixes for this issue and dependency updates including urllib3.
