Currently, no mitigation is available or meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, deployment, and applicability. Red Hat recommends upgrading to fixed versions once available or consulting with a Technical Account Manager if applicable. No immediate action is required beyond awareness and planning for future updates.
Description
A validation flaw in the python cryptography package allows attackers to provide a public key point from a small-order subgroup on SECT curves. This can leak information about the victim's private key bits during ECDH key negotiation and enable forging of ECDSA signatures on the small subgroup. The flaw leads to a loss of integrity in encrypted communications. Mitigations are currently unavailable or do not meet Red Hat's criteria for ease of use and applicability.
