A fix is available in the updated opentelemetry-collector-contrib package version 0.162.0-0.1.hum1 for aarch64 and x86_64 architectures. Users should apply this update to mitigate the vulnerability. No additional mitigations are specified by the vendor.
Description
A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability exists in golang.org/x/text's Nickname profile due to an out-of-bounds slice indexing error. An attacker can cause an application using this library to panic and crash by submitting specially crafted input. This issue affects Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs that include the vulnerable opentelemetry-collector-contrib package. An update to opentelemetry-collector-contrib version 0.162.0-0.1.hum1 is available to address this issue.
