AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an updated package grafana12.4-12.4.10-0.4.hum1 that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply this update to remediate the issue. Additionally, applications using fast-uri for host validation should implement case-insensitive host comparisons by converting the parsed host to lowercase before performing allowlist or denylist checks to prevent bypasses due to case normalization inconsistencies.

Description

A security bypass vulnerability (CVE-2026-86472) was found in fast-uri, a dependency-free URI parser used in Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs including grafana12.4. The flaw arises because fast-uri converts the host to lowercase before percent-decoding it, allowing crafted URIs with percent-encoded uppercase characters to bypass host allowlist or denylist checks that rely on case-sensitive comparisons. This could lead to unauthorized access or actions by circumventing security controls. Red Hat has issued an update for grafana12.4 to address this issue.
