A security update is available in the form of updated RPMs for Red Hat Hardened Images, including grafana12.4 version 12.4.13-0.3.hum1. Applying this update will address the vulnerability. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory. Users should apply the update as per Red Hat's instructions available at https://images.redhat.com/.
Description
A vulnerability in the follow-redirects library used in Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs allows sensitive credential headers to be leaked to untrusted remote servers due to improper handling of cross-origin redirects. This occurs when applications specify sensitive headers containing special regular expression characters, which are not properly escaped, causing the filtering mechanism to fail. Exploitation requires a specific non-default configuration and an external redirect to an attacker-controlled host. The vulnerability is rated moderate severity by Red Hat and affects the grafana12.4 package updated to version 12.4.13-0.3.hum1.
