AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an updated cosign package (version 3.1.3-0.2.hum1) as part of the Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs security update to fix this vulnerability. Users should apply this update to remediate the issue. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

CVE-2026-93450 is a denial of service vulnerability in the go-openapi/swag library's jsonutils component used by Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs. It is caused by uncontrolled recursion during ordered JSON parsing and serialization, allowing remote unauthenticated attackers to submit deeply nested JSON documents that trigger a stack overflow and terminate the process. This affects Go-based network services that ingest untrusted structured API specifications, causing service disruption. Standalone tools using the library have minimal exposure as exploitation requires processing malicious input files directly. Red Hat has released an update to cosign RPMs to address this issue.
