A security update is available in Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh version 3.1.12 that addresses these vulnerabilities. Users should apply this update promptly to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official fix provided by Red Hat.
Description
Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh 3.1.12 addresses multiple security vulnerabilities in components based on the Istio project. These include issues such as ReverseProxy forwarding hidden query parameters potentially bypassing security controls, various denial of service vulnerabilities related to XML decoding, HTTP/2 unencrypted connections, TLS KeyUpdate messages, and URL path resolution complexity, as well as cross-site scripting via pathological input and heap use-after-free in HTTP/2 trailers. The update fixes these vulnerabilities to improve the security posture of the service mesh in microservice architectures.
