AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an updated OpenShift Jenkins 4.12 image that includes a newer OpenShift client and fixes for this vulnerability. It is recommended that users upgrade to the latest version of OpenShift Jenkins 4.12. If specific OpenShift client versions are required in Jenkins pipelines, they should be explicitly configured using the Jenkins pipeline tools directive. No additional mitigations are specified in the advisory.

Description

A vulnerability in the jose4j library used by Red Hat OpenShift Developer Tools - Openshift Jenkins 4.12 allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by sending a malicious JSON Web Encryption (JWE) token with a very high compression ratio. This leads to excessive memory allocation and processing time during decompression, potentially making the service unavailable to legitimate users. Red Hat has released a security update for OpenShift Jenkins 4.12 that includes a newer OpenShift client and addresses this issue.
