AI-suggested
Red Hat has released an updated Openshift Jenkins 4.16 image that includes a newer OpenShift client and addresses this vulnerability. It is recommended that users upgrade to the latest version of Openshift Jenkins 4.16. If Jenkins pipelines require a specific OpenShift client version, it should be explicitly configured in the pipeline tools directive. No other mitigations are specified.
Description
A vulnerability in the jose4j library used by Red Hat OpenShift Developer Tools - Openshift Jenkins 4.16 allows a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service by sending a malicious JSON Web Encryption (JWE) token with a very high compression ratio. This leads to excessive memory allocation and processing time during decompression, potentially making the service unavailable. Red Hat has released a security update for Openshift Jenkins 4.16 that includes a newer OpenShift client version and addresses this issue.
