AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated packages for RESTEasy in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and its variants to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in Red Hat Advisory RHSA-2026:85234 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate these issues. No alternative mitigations are specified; applying the official update is the recommended action.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in RESTEasy, a JBoss project framework for building RESTful Web Services and Java applications. The first vulnerability (CVE-2026-89059) involves an unbounded image decode in IIOImageProvider that can lead to a decompression-bomb denial of service (DoS). The second vulnerability (CVE-2026-89058) concerns the CorsFilter reflecting arbitrary origins with credentials when configured with a wildcard, potentially allowing unauthorized cross-origin requests. Red Hat has issued a security advisory with updates to address these issues in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants.
