AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated rsync packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 that address all listed vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update RHSA-2026:74095 or later to remediate these issues. The vendor advisory provides detailed instructions for applying the update. No additional mitigation steps are required once the update is applied.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the rsync utility used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. These include path traversal, arbitrary file deletion and write, command injection, memory corruption, denial of service, local privilege escalation, unauthorized file access, authorization bypass, access control bypass, information disclosure, and directory escape via race condition. The update addresses these issues in rsync versions prior to 3.5.0, improving security and fixing regressions.
