AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated SSSD packages that fix these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 should apply the provided security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:46990. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities were addressed in the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. The first vulnerability (CVE-2026-14474) involves the sudo LDAP provider searching the entire directory tree for sudoRole objects by default, which could enable privilege escalation. The second vulnerability (CVE-2026-14476) is a path traversal in the Group Policy Object (GPO) cache via an unsanitized gPCFileSysPath, allowing Kerberos authentication bypass. Red Hat has released an update to fix these issues along with other bug fixes and enhancements.
