AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Thunderbird packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the Thunderbird update to version 140.9.1-1.el9_6 or later as provided by Red Hat. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official update.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities affecting Mozilla Thunderbird and related components have been addressed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support. These include arbitrary code execution due to a use-after-free in libpng, information disclosure and denial of service via out-of-bounds read/write in libpng's Neon palette expansion, memory safety bugs in Thunderbird and Firefox, and an integer overflow in the graphics text component. Updates to Thunderbird ESR 140.9.1 and Thunderbird 149.0.2 include fixes for these issues.
