What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Thunderbird packages (version 128.9.0-2.el8_8) that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply this security update on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 systems after ensuring all previously released errata are applied. Detailed update instructions are available in the Red Hat advisory. No additional mitigations are indicated beyond applying the official update.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in Mozilla Thunderbird as packaged by Red Hat for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8. These include a use-after-free triggered by XSLTProcessor (CVE-2025-3028), URL bar spoofing via non-BMP Unicode characters (CVE-2025-3029), and various memory safety bugs (CVE-2025-3030). The fixes are included in Thunderbird version 128.9.0 and later. Red Hat has released updated packages to address these issues.
