AI-suggested

Red Hat has released security updates for TigerVNC in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided updates (e.g., tigervnc-1.9.0-15.el8_2.11) as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2024:2041) and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.

Description

TigerVNC, a suite of VNC servers and clients used for remote desktop access, has multiple security vulnerabilities in the xorg-x11-server component. These include heap buffer overread and data leakage issues (CVE-2024-31080 and CVE-2024-31081) and a user-after-free vulnerability (CVE-2024-31083). These flaws could potentially lead to information disclosure or memory corruption. Red Hat has issued security updates for affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 variants to address these issues.
