AI-suggested
Red Hat has released an official security update for TigerVNC on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 (version tigervnc-1.9.0-15.el8_2.15) that addresses these vulnerabilities. Users should apply this update promptly following Red Hat's published guidance at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.
Description
TigerVNC, a suite of VNC servers and clients used for remote desktop access, has multiple security vulnerabilities including use-after-free flaws and a value overflow in components of the Xorg server (xmayland and xwayland). These vulnerabilities are addressed in a security update for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2. The issues could potentially lead to memory corruption or other unintended behavior if exploited.
