AI-suggested
Red Hat has released security updates for TigerVNC in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Extended Update Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. Since official fixes are available, applying these patches is the recommended mitigation. No additional vendor-recommended mitigations or workarounds are indicated.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities affecting X.Org's Xwayland component used by TigerVNC have been addressed in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 update. These include use-after-free, buffer overflow, heap overflow, out-of-bounds write, and use of uninitialized pointer issues. The update fixes eight distinct CVEs related to Xwayland. TigerVNC is a remote display system allowing users to access desktop environments remotely. The update is rated as having an Important security impact by Red Hat.
