What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Vim packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and its variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided security updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in Vim (Vi IMproved) editor, including denial of service via stack out-of-bounds write, out-of-bounds write in spell file word count, and arbitrary code or command execution via malicious docstrings in Python omni-completion and crafted tags file in C omni-completion. These issues affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 variants and have been addressed in updated Vim packages.
